PSV Eindhoven, short for Philips Sport Vereniging, is a professional football club. Founded in 1913 as a sports club for employees of the Philips electronics company. They play in the Eredivisie, the top football league in the Netherlands. PSV is considered one of the "big three" clubs in Dutch football, alongside Ajax and Feyenoord.PSV has achieved significant success both domestically and in Europe. They won the UEFA Cup in 1978 and the European Cup in 1988. The 1988 victory was part of a rare treble.
